About This Project

Monument Valley, Utah and memories of corny, old American Westerns in glorious ‘Technicolour VistaVision.’

After not painting for decades, for whatever reason, I chose this scene to immortalise in paint.

I remember laying the canvas on a table top. I hadn’t at the time been motivated enough to purchased an easel. I thought of ‘painting pictures’ as my new hobby. And we all have to begin again somewhere. Even the deserts of Utah!

Are those rocks orange or what?
