The title ‘Sea of Love is pinched from a 1989 movie starring Al Pacino ‘s New York cop and Ellen Barkin’sfemale escort who both, unsurprisingly, get mixed up with a serial killer.
My ‘Sea of Love’ bares zero comparison to it‘s celluloid namesake.
My paintings are, naturally, neither photograph or film. They’re created on canvas with paint, brushes and fingers. And that’s where the ‘challenging’ part of the adventure plays out.
I’m trying to create something new, original, something that has, as yet, never existed. So, confronted by a blank canvas, my hope is to create a real and believable narrative with paint. It’s a thankless task, but let’s see what you think about the picture?
OK, who is she? Why is she in the ocean? Why has she let go of the wedding band? Has there beenfoul-play? Who else is involved? Are we at a point of no return? What happens next?
You are the audience, it’s entirely up to you!
